If you are serious about reading, get a Kindle.

Summary: Somehow, the battery in the Kindle Paperwhite seems to far outlast my previous generation Kindle Graphite reader with the hard navigation buttons. It seems slightly heftier but is quite comfortable to hold even with just one hand. The touch screen makes it much easier to highlight and add notes to passages, though takes some initial getting used to. The keyboard is not as fast as an iPhone by any means and I think this is a technological limitation of current e-ink tech.
Summary: I got this for my wife for Christmas. She is not a techie person. A few simple lessons, that were on the reader, and she is into it with few problems. With help, she had a download that she wanted. I am sure that in time, my bank account will be drained <grin>. The size and weight are astounding for what it packs in it. Batter life is supposed to be around 80 hours! I have a hard time fathoming that.
Summary: There are 3 reasons I bought the Kindle Paperwhite. One, I wanted an ereader with a back-lit display so that I can read without using a lamp. Secondly, I was looking for a Kindle device to take advantage of the wide variety of free books available through websites such as Amazon, BookBub, etc. The 3rd reason is the ability to download books wirelessly and to all of my e-devices simultaneously. I have an android tablet and phone as well as the Papershite.
Great product for a cheapskate library book reader. Love it!

Summary: I thought it was time to join the future of book reading and the Kindle Paperwhite is it! I read in bed at night and my old LED clip-on light drove my wife crazy. In addition to being too bright it ate through batteries and the costs piled up. My Paperwhite limits light "leaks" and greatly reduces eye strain that comes with typical back-lit screens. The device is light and surprisingly rugged.
Summary: I gave my kindle to my 79 yr. old mother-in-law and needed one for myself. I often have sleepless nights so this is so wonderful with its own light. It is marvelous doesn't wake the husband up and I can enjoy reading with no interruptions. What could be better than that?
My first e-book reader, but it feels like a great buy!

Summary: Great screen to read books on, especially when sitting in the sun! The dictionary function is also wonderful when english isn't your first language, which is the case for me. Can't say anything about battery life yet, but it seems to last for a long time. The ads are really unintrusive and don't bother me at all. Downsides are that epub isn't supported, although converting is easy, and, as a swede, that the store is geared toward english readers.
