MarkLunney, CNET
18 December 2013
  • Summary: As a pure reading device I'm very happy with the Kindle paperwhite, it has a great soft-touch feel, weighs next to nothing and the new screen is superb. Haven't even had to charge it yet.
  • Pros: Good screen for reading, feels nice in hand, lasts ages
  • Cons: Poor web experience, no audio

Amazing new Kindle is nearly perfect except for ads in the non-ad version

Chad Bush, Amazon
7 October 2012
  • Summary: So far, I love my new Paperwhite Kindle. I've been using an aging keyboard Kindle 2, waiting for a version with a built-in light like this. Amazon really got it right with the light on this one. The high resolution screen is noticeably easier to read, and the user interface is well thought out.

Worthy upgrade over prior models but light is not even

T. Tom, Amazon
2 October 2012
  • Summary: Length: 9:13 Mins While I think this is a worthy upgrade over prior versions of the Kindle, there is some unevenness of the light which is most noticeable when in a pitch dark room. The light is not very uniform although still the best lighted e-ink available.

Reading on the move...

Secre, Ciao
  • Excerpt: For many long years I was determined to be old fashioned about reading and rely solely upon the form of reading known as a book. Yes, a book as in a novel. Those large blocks of paper neatly bound into seven hundred page monstrosities that people used to carry around for fun and pleasure.
  • Pros: Everything .
  • Cons: All I can think of is that it's not in colour .  .  .

  • Pros: Small, easy to carry

  • Excerpt: I upgraded from the old kindle to the paper white model but have not found it as easy to use The light however is a great I.provement. I find the leather case is quite heavy to carry in my handbag

Kindle Paperwhite is the next best thing to real books.

asuanco19..., Ciao
21 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought my Kindle Paperwhite three years ago and since then, I've read over 500 books and it still works like new. Of course, there's Kindle apps that you could download on your PC or your phone, but reading on Kindle Paperwhite feels different -- it's like reading a physical book!
  • Pros: Doesn't strain my eyes when I read .
  • Cons: Doesn't have that all familiar book smell that I love though .
