Nice reading device.

Excerpt: Very good for reading. It has an internal light so it can look like paper, or it can look like an electronic tablet. The battery life is poor though. It runs out of battery even when turned off. It is touch-screen though, which I do like. I would reccomend it. The problem is it still uses the battery even when it is powered off. This can be frusterating sometimes.
Tablet that allows you to read & store books & magazines

Excerpt: I am personally still getting used to the whole reading without actually holding a book or magazine since I'm not used to it, I still prefer the old way. The difference with this kindle verses others, is that is it just black and white. I think everything is better with at least having a color option. Besides having no color, there where no other differences that stood out to me when I compared the kindle with and with out color.
Excerpt: I'm an avid reader but rarely have time to go to the library to check out a book or to a bookstore to buy one. I was thrilled when I received the Paperwhite for Christmas. It makes buying and browsing books super simple. Pros - Simplicity of the device, intuitive to use large amounts of storage long lasting battery life. I've only had to charge my once since I got it in December and I'm on it nearly every day.
The Kindle Paperwhite: Great for reading, but not much else

Excerpt: The new Kindle Paperwhite by Amazon is yet another version of the best-selling e-reader. New technology makes the Paperwhite more like reading a book than ever. The text/background contrast is brilliantly clear and crisp, and new features help you highlight, bookmark and find your place better than ever. The Paperwhite also lets you download plenty of apps, but don't expect to be thrilled with this feature.
Excerpt: I will start out by stating that the ONLY reason it gets a four out of five, is because I've had problems with the charger. The first one never worked, and the new one I was sent still has problems. It is very touchy, and you have to sit it just right for it to charge, the littlest movement makes it stop.. I love everything about this. The light is perfect for nighttime reading in bed with the adjustable brightness. The screen is very clear and easy to read.
Kindle Paperwhite: Battletested by Hurricane Sandy

Excerpt: I love to read. Anyone who knows me will tell you I always have a book in hand. It takes serious effort for me to not read during meals – I will choose a book over dinner conversation any time. So you can imagine how excited I was to test drive the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. I didn't expect to conduct the majority of my testing under disaster conditions while surrounded by floodwaters, but I certainly got to know the Paperwhite very well since it was literally my sole...
Excerpt: My oldest is OBSESSED with books. I can't get enough books into her hands because she is going through them so quickly! She is reading about 100 pages of a youth chapter book a day. I send her to bed with a freshly downloaded e-book and she has it read by morning. Who is this kid!? Oh yeah... mine. I was the exact same way. Her Aunt was a book worm as well. I guess she got the book worm gene. Words out of my eight year olds mouth as I handed it to her: "Oh my!
Excerpt: I've been waiting for this for years. I am an avid after dark reader and have suffered with book lights on my old kindle (with keyboard) for years. Light does just as I expected, not totally solid across the page as it is not backlit but lit across between layers. Battery is a little disappointing, after a week with wifi running was already down to about 2/3rd. Turned wifi off and got it to last to just over a month.
Excerpt: The screen can be a little "touchy" and skip forward more than one page at a time if your finger is on the screen too long, but overall it is a very good reader. The battery life is good, the design is nice and I really like the backlit feature so I can read in the dark without a secondary light.
Excerpt: My husband and kids got me this almost two years ago for Valentine's Day. I love that it is so much lighter than carrying around a hard cover book and doesn't take up anywhere near as much room in my bag. It's so easy to take on the plane or a train trip when heading up to the city for the day. The only issue I have is if I use it for too many days in a row and forget to charge it. Otherwise it's great.
