Nice tablet

  • Excerpt: I had the Kindle Fire for just under 3 years before I dropped it on pavement and the screen cracked. It is a nice tablet. It was very reliable. I almost never had problems with it crashing. The browser was nice. It works well as a 1st tablet for young kids. However, it has such a small app store.
  • Pros: Cheap, Works decently
  • Cons: Small app store, Lack of customization (even more than iOS)

Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet

Fuscero, ReviewStream

  • Excerpt: This device aims to give you a good tablet experience for an affordable price. The Kindle Fire features a 1 gigahertz dual-core processor, and 512 megabytes of Ram. Mine has 8 gigabytes of internal storage…and about 6 gigabytes is actually available to the user (with this 8gb model, of course). …

  • Excerpt: I recently decided that I wanted a nice tablet that I could use, because of its portability and compact size. After looking into several tablets, I decided the Kindle Fire would be a great choice, as it was a fully colored e reader that worked as a tablet. Buying …

  • Excerpt: Its fast and feels incredibly solid. Yes its Android 2.3.5 , but Amazon has gone out of there way to cover that up with an interesting nice UI. The dual core processor gives fluid performance.
  • Pros: Incredibly solid, Low Price, Fast processor and fluid performance, simple design?
  • Cons: Lack of camera

  • Excerpt: Great for the price, battery could be better but everything else is great! It is a little annoying to have to adjust volume via software but that's a small gripe. I love the size of it and the screen is gorgeous. You cant go wrong with this at this price.
  • Pros: Nice display, Mostly fast, lots of amazon content, portable
  • Cons: battery is on the short side, no volume buttons, front camera would be nice

Unimpressed

  • Excerpt: The specs are good on paper its another story when in use. The kindle fire seems like it was rushed out without thought just to make some profit. I have a dual core droid x2 with the same processor clock speed of 1ghz so i should have an idea of how the kindle fire should run. Wrong!
  • Pros: cheap price?
  • Cons: the amazon overlay, volume buttons, slow interface, internet connectivity issues

Kindle Fire

MisterTickle, ReviewStream
24 January 2012
  • Excerpt: The Kindle Fire is a very nice tablet actually. It offers the performance and features any other tablet would. However, like all other Kindle models, the Kindle Fire is also eBook focused. This means that just because this tablet can web browse, check email, play games, watch movies, and …

  • Summary: I adored my Kindle, so I jumped at the chance to upgrade to the Fire. I soon discovered lots of 'however,'. It doesn't come with a charger plug/adapter, only a usb cable - which takes hours to charge via your computer /laptop.
  • Pros: small and handy with all I need in one place
  • Cons: battery life, doesn't come with a charger.

  • Summary: I became very interested in Kindle Fire after seeing its price. It is ok to have smaller screen and to be heavier than i pad. But later I saw the white-black Kindle which cost only 89$s. Now I think simple Kindle is the cheapest and is the right one for reading ebooks.
