It is not a best choice ,but it is cheaper than others :) You must get one.

  • Summary: It supports mp3. Can be read txt,mobi,fb2,prc,pub,pdf,rtf etc. If you want to listen mp3 while reading ebooks ,or searching ebooks; system is going a bit slow down. There is no external speaker ,so you must use an earphone. First time boot up is very slow ,bu after you can read and explore faster. Sometimes device unresponsive while sleep mode (device cant wake up) ,you must soft reset it with back reset button for return.

Good Beginner eReader...

JessMikey, Amazon
16 February 2012
  • Summary: First of all this is not e-ink, its e-paper. Big difference but still easy on the eyes. Very versatile. Love being able to listen to audiobooks on it, or music while I read. Seems to be finicky when you first put a SD card in it, had to hard reset it. But after that all was well. Has a GREAT battery life!!! Haven't charged it yet, and I bought it 3 weeks ago! Still going off the battery charge that was out of the box!

just enough

dfm, Amazon
21 January 2012
  • Summary: picked up my libre color at a menards promotion, 30 bucks why not try it? most of the places i'd take it to have no wi fi- hardly any cell service at that. i do like that it supports many file types in the book, audio and video formats. did talk with a tech person- they suggested i update firmware before using, and to use sd cards no bigger that 8gb- it would load files faster. ya' know what? it does. had a 16gb with audio books- took forever to load.

1 EGG OFF- WON'T UPDATE

Verneda T., Newegg
10 December 2011
  • Summary: Also...may have the Ectaco quirk; do NOT put parenthesis () in folder/ book title names. May or may not recognize them. Parenthesis in a book title may cause the whole folder and its other books not to show up on ereader.
  • Pros: Great ereader, no frills. Sale-under $50. Easy on the eyes, drop and drag books onto your micro SD card, insert and voila. I gave my sister a 2 gig micro SD card in an adaptor, already formatted with folders full of bestsellers (Contemp, Horror, Fantasy, Mystery,Non-Fic, etc...). Showed her the ereader's basic controls and she can't live w/o it now. She would not even let me return it for lack of updating ability because it works fine without the next 2 available upda...
  • Cons: This one won't update. I'm no novice. Have updated 5 other ereaders, various brands + complexity. This one is no go. Read mobile forums, others with same problem.

Great Gift idea - Intro ereader

Melanie D., Newegg
6 December 2011
  • Pros: Size; Price; Bought this for my daughter (13) for her birthday. She is an avid reader and loves it! Hers came with 100 pre-loaded books and she is still reading just those. Bought this one rather than pricier ones since I wasn't sure how much she would use it or like it. Turns out she uses it frequently and has replaced someother hand-held toys/stuff she used to use the most. Gald I bought it. It's not as sexy as some other models but for the money you can't go wrong!
  • Cons: Not the mainstream eReaders - so you need to KNOW how to get more books for it. Mainly using for library books right now.

Gread Deal!

Matthew Frost, Amazon
3 December 2011
  • Summary: I got mine at Menards for $30 after $30 rebate. It is a great deal and I like the video function the best, also I like the fact that you can play music while you are reading a book. The sound and speaker quality is crisp and clear. I like the ease of use, wish the battery life was longer.

a good starter e book

hotstuff542, Ebay
22 September 2011
  • Summary: it works great, i like that you can zoom in on the page & is easy to understand. a few drawbacks are the battery life if it's not fully charged. and there is no backlight, so you need to have a light next to you, no biggie.
