Summary: Worked great until I received an email telling me to upgrade to the new firmware. After trying a couple of times to no avail. I was advised to 'force' an update. The unit died. I attempted many times to get Aluratek to honor the warranty, (had two months to go), but they refused due to me buying it from a "Not approved Aluratek Store". Watch out where and from who you buy the unit or you will get stuck.
Summary: I gave this as a gift and since the pricing is right in the middle I assumed it wouold work fairly well. It is trash, extremely slow and difficult interaface. Don't waste your time or money on this. How embarassing to give someone something they are so excited about then be asked to return it.
Summary: UPDATE - May 1, 2012 I'm officially reducing my rating from 3 stars to 1. After less than 6 months of use, my Libre Color has stopped working. For a bit now, I've been having problems where it would randomly freeze up, and I'd have to hold down the power button to force reset it. Sometimes this would happen repeatedly almost as soon as it was turned back on.
Summary: This was a terrible product; I would never buy it again. I had it for 6 months when it started to act up. It doesn't book mark my pages anymore and it takes forever just to change the page. It was nowhere worth the money that I spent on it.
Summary: I publish an ebook newsletter monthly. We have over 850 active members. I will make the lack of Customer Service with regards to rebate processing a major point in my newsletter.
Pros: Works as designed.
Cons: Purchased with a $ 20.00 rebate in June 2011. I did all paperwork and mailed in for rebate. Called Aluratek several times and get the run-a-round each time with regard to rebate status. "we are delayed in proceesing your rebate" or "we are several months delayed due to high number of requests". The rebate form states 6-8 weeks. I am on week 12 and no rebate in site. Aluratek has one person doing the rebates and that person will not even confirm that the rebate has arr...
Summary: Purchased a brand new one in March by June it was not working. Aluratek has made me jump through hoops to try and get it serviced in the end they denied any waranty claim. I could not even send it to them for a quote to repair it. I bought it because I liked the idea of being able to store video on it and it held so much on the SD card. I have a Sony ereader and have been rough with it for over a year and never once had a problem.
Lemon- Save you money, only worked for about 15 reads!

Summary: I liked it at first. I missed the tangible books and the ease to picking up a book marked book without having to make sure device was charged, and to locate filed book and marked page. I really didn't use this much, after the initial excitement died. It was not intuitive to download ebooks, and does not take Barnes and Nobles Nook ebooks. I've owned this 4 months, and used it about 15 times total. It NO LONGER WORKS!
Summary: It is a nice idea but Aluratek should have removed all of the bugs before selling this plastic door stop. Have not been able to read even one book on this since I wasted $130 on it. It came with an SD card with 100 classics in TXT format that used to open. The manual states it can open about six different formats but it only worked a few times with TXT files.
Pros: Nice size and weight. Nice screen and easy on the eyes. Would have been a great reader if it worked.
Cons: Would be wouderful if it worked for more than a week. Always locks up. Will shut off on its own. Will not load a book installed on the SD card or from internal memory. The directions stated to go online and download and install a firmware update to correct the above problems. I completted the update and only had worse problems.
