Summary: Powered up out of the box, but as soon as I plugged it in to charge, it began clicking loudly and apparently blew the charging circuit or the battery. Would not turn on unless plugged in (and was still clicking).
Summary: You, Amazon, advertised this Aluratek thing as a book reader. Well, you CAN read books with it, and also supposedly log onto the net and use it as a tablet, but all these things are VERY HARD to do with this gadget. I can't get logged onto my Yahoo email even though I input the correct usernames and passwords that I use everyday on my computer, and, when "reading books", the thing will NOT keep the place where you stop when you are through reading.
Summary: I loved the Aluratek Elibre Pro, and gave it a very high rating. I gave it to someone when I found that this colour-screen version was available. Immediately I found that it only took a 16 gb micro SD card instead of the larger one I had in my previous reader. I figured I could just buy one, so I turned on the unit. It felt good in my hands and it's a Droid, which was also a positive because we like Droid products.
Summary: The reader can be rotated, it maintains file names, its brightness can be adjusted, it's wonderful to see photos and videos in colour! Lovely way to read books! Great to have the SD card in with a few extra thousand books or so plus the music, photos and videos! This ereader should never have been discontinued - it blows away the competition - I have a Glo and don't like it half as much!

Summary: As it happens opportunity allowed me the great good fortune to buy/purchase three of these Aluratek products as Christmas presents for my people and their people. The first of these products 'The Libre Ebook Reader Pro' arrived most timely and was joyfully received as a High End Treasure of affordable excellence.
Summary: According to my ex, for whom's birthday this present was, it is a great machine with already a load of books on it. Pitty it arrived a few weeks laten due to whatever. But still a good product.
Summary: Worked great until I received an email telling me to upgrade to the new firmware. After trying a couple of times to no avail. I was advised to 'force' an update. The unit died. I attempted many times to get Aluratek to honor the warranty, (had two months to go), but they refused due to me buying it from a "Not approved Aluratek Store". Watch out where and from who you buy the unit or you will get stuck.
Summary: I bought my Aluratek Libre eReader Pro from Borders, which tells you how long ago I got it. As near as I can remember, it's been three or four years. The biggest selling point for this reader is that it can hold a crazy number of books. The original ads touted 50,000 books with a 32GB card. That's the bonus here, the Libre uses SD cards.
