Conclusion: I've been so glad to see something different, but this festival piece was more than just that : great scenery of non hostile nature, dark atmosphere, bunch of fugitives trying to survive at all costs, story that drags you in and leaves you staring at the end credits, still thinking about the events and twists. If you are fed up with cliches and useless meaningless dialogues - this have to be your pick.
Conclusion: Hi, I don't agree with the previous reviewer. I found this film incredibly effective. It's based on a true story (hopefully not too true) back when australia contained some of the most brutal penal colonies on earth, and it's about the horrific events that transpire after a group of convicts make a run for it. The film drips with authenticity - the use of gaelic language and subtitles is a brilliant touch.
Conclusion: Hi im irish, bought this film thought i might come across some of my relatives, watched it awful experience, where was the point in the convicts escaping and carrying on the way they did , they had no chance of escaping, they might as well topped themselves, at the start, depressing hopless situation.
