Excerpt: The Perks of Being a Wallflower is an adorable movie. It is so adorable because it is so relatable, capturing the good and bad of high school in a nut shell. Everyone knows what it was like to go to school (I hope), and have experienced what is portrayed so delicately in this film.
Summary: I really love this movie. The book is one of those things you appreciate the most at a certain age, or a certain point in your life, and I think the movie is no different. However, if there was one thing I didn't like about the film, it's that at times Patrick could be a little....too flamboyant.
Excerpt: Rarely does a cast come together as well as they did in Perks of Being a Wallflower. When you get such amazing performances out of young actors - it makes me think that the future of Hollywood is in good hands.
Summary: Emma Watson is phenomenal! This movie is amazing! I read the book and most of the time the book is better than the movie and this is true for this movie too. But the movie was fantastic in a whole new way. It portrayed the main ideas of the book perfectly and is just an awesome movie!
Excerpt: "But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. we can still do things. " A sensitive and at times funny film about Charlie (Logan Lerman), Sam (Emma Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller).
Summary: This is not your typical teenage drama, it's absolutely transcendence. It deals with very heavy topics without ever becoming melodramatic or heavy handed. It's sad, funny, honest, bittersweet, but in the end very hopeful.
Summary: More touching and relatable than the average teen movie. This story goes beyond mere 'high school' problems and dives deep into some emotionally distraught places. The characters are genuine and the sentimentality is earned in spades.
