It's got Hugh in it! It's got Leighton in it! It's so average!

Summary: I've been a Hugh Laurie fan since I was a little kid and a Leighton Meester fan since she came onto the scene so I thought this would be a dream film. In the end though it was just an average run of the mill effort. Yes Hugh seemed to go through the motions without really getting into his stride, Leighton kept up with him and looked pretty as ever. But the storyline wasn't very focused, nothing really hooked me into the film and the supporting cast made me fall asleep.
Summary: This is a film without a clear direction. A comedy? Not really. A drama? Sometimes. A romance? Not at all. Without a clear idea of what the film should be the director has produced a plodding, anemic, movie. Overall, slow and boring. What a waste of a great cast.
Summary: I chose this film on the fact it boasted Hugh Laurie, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody and Oliver Platt among its cast. I wasnt dissapointed. Leighton Meester is wonderful as the daughter running away from a cheating boyfriend into the arms of a much older man who just happens to be her fathers best friend. the fall out from this relationship is both funny and sad. Alhough this film isnt a blockbuster it is beautifully acted and very real.
Carnage ensues when 24 year old falls in love with married neighbour
2 June 2013
Summary: 24 year old Leighton Meester comes back home briefly after leaving home 5 years earlier after her boyfriend cheats on her. Her parents live in dullsville Orange, New Jersey and she promptly causes carnage by starting an affair with married neighbour Hugh Laurie....her parents are best friends with their neighbours. I sadly spent a lot of time freeze framing the massive bald spot Hugh Laurie has in the middle of his head!! A so-so drama...
Summary: This director cannot make up his mind whether he wants to make a comedy, social satire or just plain drama. So one minute it's full blown drama and the next it's slapstick comedy, that gets to the tradition happy ending for all, that American films seem to must have! I'd give it a miss unless you are a Leighton Meester fanatic, as she is looks scrumptious throughout.
