Summary: Do not waste your time watching this film! I regret wasting my time actually giving the film a chance and watching it all the way through. It is very boring and drags on and on and on and on. Yawwwwwn!
Summary: Watched about ten minutes..... I got distracted by something else, I forgot I was watching it. When I remembered I was watching the film I turned it off. Non-starter really I wouldn't bother if I was you.
Summary: I actually really enjoyed this film (though it appears i'm only one of a handful that did!) It IS slow moving but the title 'the five year engagement' should prob suggest its going to move at a fairly slow pace! I'm not a fan of rom coms in general and I dont like the ones where guy meets girl and there's a mishap followed by a misunderstanding followed by a slushy oversentimental grand gesture, ugh and a slow clap then everything gets wrapped up into a neat little bow...
Summary: Before seeing this I had never seen Jason Segel in a funny film - and I still haven't. This so-called rom-com is just about as unfunny and unromantic as a film can be. And why does Segel have to keep shedding his clothes in films, does he really imagine anybody wants to see him naked? Ugh! It was a blessed relief when the end credits came; it felt more like 10 years than 5.
Conclusion: I'm a big Jason Segel fan and think he can be absolutely hilarious, but this film is truly awful! I think it has maybe 3 laughs in it and incredibly it runs for over 130mins! What the hell were they thinking? Avoid at all costs.
Conclusion: I loved Bridesmaids and since this was from the same producers I was expecting it to be just as funny but it wasn't. At times the film seemed to drag on and film could easily have been 30 minutes shorter and not really lost anything plot wise. In places the film was funny but it could have been so much better.
Conclusion: I expected the usual rom-com nonsense, but was very pleasantly surprised at this film. It took unpredictable twists and turns and had genuinely moving and laugh out loud moments. I didn't want it to end in fact. And for once, the leading pair actually have chemistry with each other. Excellent.
