Summary: James Wan remembers to make a movie and not just a collection of jump scares. Good acting, great atmosphere, and a genuinely creepy vibe makes The Conjuring the best horror movie since the Sixth Sense.
Excerpt: Time to scream ! James Wan is back with another scare stuff. The Conjuring is another film with a simplistic take on the Hollywood horror dramas. But the helm of the film is taken by James Wan (the man who gave us Saw series and the Insidious, which gained quite good ratings). So is the new offering special from James Wan? Does it get to the basics right? Will it be loved by the audience? Let me give a deep smile for the questions. James Wan has proved he is best at it.
Summary: I'm growing tired of paranormal movies because they're all the same. However, this movie is suspenseful, has jump scares, a good logical plot, and a good ending. I'd recommend this movie. Well done.
Summary: well after all the hype i finally got around to watching this horror. basically its the same as every other horror movie cue family a house and kids seeing monsters and strange noises etc etc then cue someone getting possessed. you know the drill there's hundreds of movies with the same story , though to be fair its better than a lot of them, i found the first half pretty boring and the same ole thing ive seen too many times before. but it got good after.
Excerpt: James Wan. Wow. Thank you. Thank you for moving away from the commercial horror and making the most original horror film of the year. Focusing heavily on atmosphere and tension, Wan seemed to captivate me with every shot in this film. The Conjuring is an excellently made film. Not just an excellently directed or written film, but it as a whole it makes me overjoyed this project was green-lit.
Excerpt: One of the most well crafted true to life based stories for a horror picture. Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and Roger (Ron Livingston) Perron together with Nancy, Cindy, and Christine move into an old house. Paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warren's assistance were needed by the Perron's after a series of spooky incidents inside the house.
Excerpt: With The Conjuring, James Wan continues to prove he's developing as a film maker. Beginning with the unintentionally hilarious Saw, to Dead Silence, and Insidious which became his biggest hit, The Conjuring is his crowning achievement so far. Based on the true story of the Perron Famly Haunting, as well Ed and Lorrainne Warren, two paranormal investigators who come in to try to help the Perron's but soon find themselves in one of the darkest, most terrifying haunting...
Summary: While it's not as scary as The Exorcist (as some people made it seem to be...), The Conjuring is still a good horror film- and I'm not sure if I was just especially jumpy the night I watched it in theaters, but I remember screaming a few times during the some of the intense scenes....
