Summary: This latest addition to the Star Wars lexicon introduces a bevy of new villains and a huge amount of battles, but it leaves too many characters out of the picture (like Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, Yoda, Padme, etc.), introduces a new character who has never been mentioned before, and is just a series of build-ups and let-downs. My advice, watch the animated series and you'll see what its like for free.
Excerpt: I wasn't expecting too much going into this. I knew there was a Star Wars animated series coming up, but the powers that be decided a feature film should be introduced first. They probably should have just made a 2-hour premiere on TV instead. Geared toward the younger generation, this takes place between episode II and III.
Conclusion: Having only briefly heard of this animated version of Star Wars I approached this with caution. But when it comes to Star Wars you have to see it anyway. It took a while to get over the graphics used to create the world. When the characters moved they did so very clumsily. But the more I watched the more I got used to it and came to like the style. So the film should get plus points for that.
