Summary: Let's rock. rock of ages. okay rock of ages is like glee just rock music and did this movie suck like glee well i can say a little bit.tom cruise is the only one that was entertaining in this movie and that's it.
Excerpt: Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) is your typical small-town girl from Oklahoma who decides to pursue her dreams of being a singer in Los Angeles. Upon arriving, she is mugged and loses her suitcase with all her favorite records. Drew Boley (Diego Boneta), a city boy, witnesses Sherrie being mugged and helps her out by getting her a job as a waitress where he works, at the Bourbon Room.
Excerpt: For those who dig 80's rock, humorous musicals while playing satire to boy bands, then this is for your. This reviewer that enjoyed Van Halen, GN'R, Skid Row back in the day, if your into this type of bands, this film's soundtrack will definitely be heaven to your ears. Sherrie (Julianne Hough) travels to LA to become a singer and accidentally meets Drew (Diego Boneta), who dreams of making it big with his band.
Excerpt: I don't want to brag or anything, but my high school and college years were spent in a time period known as" the 80's", where AquaNet and mullets were plentiful, and the music by bands like Journey, Guns N Roses, and my personal favorite, Def Leppard, was not just great, it was EPIC. Imagine then how my little "hair metal" loving heart skipped a beat when I saw the previews for 'Rock of Ages'!
Summary: A high spirited rock musical, with a robust amount of 80's hair hits and a taste for humor. The plot/characters may be a cliche, but the movie covers them in a knowingly cheesy fashion. Speaking of 'covers', the song performances are well done and generate the right amount of silly when needed. This turned out to be a surprisingly fun watch.
Excerpt: Here's all you need to know about Rock of Ages: 90% music, 9% dialogue and 1% Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand staring deeply into each others eyes. Alright - that may be a bit of a stretch, but, as the posters exclaim, if you're looking for nothing but a good time, you won't leave disappointed.
Excerpt: I found myself wondering how I could ever enjoy a musical, knowing they tend to have little plot, and spontaneous breakouts in song... with complete strangers... that just makes the movie impossible to watch. But with Rock of Ages focusing around 80s rock, plus a descent cast list, maybe it has a chance.
Summary: If you grew up in the 80's & were a Rock lover this movie is not to be missed. This movie is flawless, a masterpiece, a classic. Songs of Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Scorpions, GNR...(Paradise city version of the movie is better than the original song). The Director must himself be a true Rock lover who came out with this amazing movie. The acting of the cast, the sets, the timing is just perfect.
