Le Week-End

DVD Verdict
  • Excerpt: The trouble starts with the hotel. It's the same place where they originally stayed, but it has become drab and Meg wants nothing to do with it. She takes charge (Nick had planned the trip) and the couple lands in a posh hotel that they cannot afford. The opening minutes of Le Week-End set up like the film is going to be a charming mash-up of Richard Linklater's Before trilogy and Arthur Hiller's The Out-of-Towners (1970).

Film review: 'Le Week-End'

9 April 2014
  • Excerpt: If Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy keep making films in their Before series, then they might eventually come up with something like Le Week-End , a small-scale, well-observed drama about a married couple spending a few days in Paris to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Like the Before movies, Le Week-End mostly involves Nick (Jim Broadbent) and Meg (Lindsay Duncan) engaged in conversation, sometimes playful, sometimes loving, sometimes antagonistic.

Le Week-End

6 February 2014
