Summary: Odd mix of teen fantasy and sci-fi, featuring a bad guy with a nose from a joke shop and attire consisting of carpet cut-offs. I wanted to like this more than I did, the non linear narrative not helping in this regard.
Conclusion: Ink is one of the best put together stories i have ever seen on film, its beautiful in every way. the soundtrack is haunting which only adds to the atmosphere created. it does lack hollywood shine at times but nothing can detract from how well made it is. the acting is good, the cinemotography fantastic and the story pehenonemal. loved every second of seeing it.
Conclusion: This film is absolutly amazing, its hasnt got the best graphics like avatar however the story line grasps you and makes you become emotionaly attached to all the characters in the film, from the pathfinder to ink himself. great twist at the end! great film!
Conclusion: A highly original and completely absorbing film that somehow ended up getting lost in the cracks..Its low budget but this film squeezes every dollar it has in the most effective way;'s creating some great visuals and a storyline that will have you gripped from the start.Stand out scenes include Jacob showing what the "beat of the world" is and Ink's realisation of the truth..A masterpiece that if you can forgive the budget is definatly a criminally ignored classic.
Conclusion: I read many reviews on this DVD and it even comes with the tag lines of the new "matrix" and the new "12 monkeys" etc. This is definitely over hype. I was disappointed. Whilst others will go on about how this was an indie film, that doesnt mean it will be any good. It does have the feel of a student film and the story is just boring, slow and doesnt really have any motive. And it is definitely a kids movie.
Conclusion: I didn't really know what to expect with this "Inception like" film. Without giving anything away, and it's just my opinion, this is a wonderful film deserving of an "Inception like" budget, that's not to say that it's let down by not having oodles of money thrown at it. The story is fantastic, original and left me wanting more.
