Summary: In the Fog is a deeply serious, utterly humourless story of social and spiritual conflict. We are drawn into a moral debate as we accompany Sushenya, Voitik and Burov on their danger-fraught odyssey.
Summary: A beautiful, bewildering but utterly compelling film about the moral choices people have to make to survive in a war zone. The three principal actors are amazing. The bleak monotony of the landscape is central to the action. But you need to accept that the film is extremely and deliberately very slow. Whatever is the opposite of a thriller, this is it!
Summary: This film has a surprisingly light and pleasant colour palate - which is possibly deliberate to counter the subject material. The tale is dark, depressing and somewhat confusing. Each of the three main characters gets a back-story flashback - two of which I didn't think were really needed. Overall it is nice looking but it lacks a coherent storyline.
