Summary: Fantastic film - brilliant story, superb graphics and what more can I say. Kept my six year old glued beginning to end and the adults loved the storyline. Must be even better in 3D. Really well written and the story is well followed through from start to finish, no bits missing - very moving in places and its not all big bangs and car chases - refreshing change. Highly recommend as a 'different' family movie that has a beginning, middle and end with meaning.
Summary: I didn't think the book could be done justice and refused to go and see this
at the movies. But have just watched the dvd and was blown away, it was
stunning, beautiful cinematography and sensitive to the original book. An
absolute must watch. And if you have not read the book ensure you do that too,
it's clever, an original idea, and simply amazing. Movie and book suitable for
all ages 6 to 106.
Conclusion: For the first part of the movie I didn't know what to expect, it felt like there was like nothing was going on, a basic plot which didn't seem to be moving. It was dull, stale and filled with little to love, and then all of a sudden, with the turn of a key, POW everything comes alive and the story becomes one of the greatest pieces in cinema history. Mixing fact and fiction together a brilliant story forms and within it a great plot.
