"Head-spinningly unexciting."

  • Summary: Except for the Daleks and the Cybermen Doctor Who hasn’t had much luck with mechanical menaces and the Krotons are no exception. Four episodes for Doctor Who enthusiasts but not for those looking for excitement.

A good story but terrible monsters.

  • Conclusion: Overall a good story with strong characters. It is known as being the first Robert Holmes script for the show so you can't really compare it with classics like Caves and Talons among others. However the bad thing about this story is the design and costumes of the krotons themselves, they can't move probably and well they can't do anything except looking menacing.

Black and White is cool too.

  • Conclusion: Another classic black and white Doctor Who story, I'm just hope the remaining stories will be released for both the 1st and 2nd doctor on DVD with all the missing episodes animated.

This classic Doctor Who story has been remasterd to almost better than it's initial transmission. Although the Krotons is not one of the best stories going, it is one of the few surviving Patrick Troughton serials and is worth it for that alone.

  • Summary: Once again the Doctor Who restoration team, have worked their magic, and brought back to life an ancient film recording from the golden age of Doctor Who. And what a story to release! The plot which was very exciting for an 8 year old and still appeals today, tells the story of the doctor (This time played by Patrick Troughton) and his 2 companions Jamie and Zoe landing on a desolate planet just as a young man and woman are given the "honour" of joining the Krotons for...
