Summary: Fascinating insight to the early life of Coco Chanel. Marvellous film in every respect highly watch able and truly enjoyable only the French can make movie`s of such a high standard like this. Perfect in every respect.
Summary: I really like Audrey Tautuo and I really like her role in this she played CoCo very well. At times though the film seemed to drag a little but I enjoyed the rag to riches story and it showed the complexities of her relationship with the gentry and her lover. If you like period drama's you will like this one. But it felt that it kinna didn't get off the ground very much. The costumes are great and Tautuo looks amazing.
Summary: Mesmerising is the word used in the marketing of this movie and mesmerising it is. Tatou is utterly convincing and stunning in the lead role as a young Coco who rebels against the excesses of French society and somehow combines a fragile vulnerability with a steely toughness. Not an easy trick to pull off but she does so flawlessly. If I say any more I am likely to spoil it for you, but the filming and everything else about it do not disappoint either.
Conclusion: Went to see at the cinema, unaware it was a subtitled french spoken film. Once I got over the disappointment I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The subtitles didn't bother me anymore. Recommended.
Conclusion: I got this film, as a present. I didnt know it was in French with English subtitles until i started watching it, but even with this in mind, its still a brilliant movie. I watch it over and over. Its great for a bit of history as well as fans of Chanel. Love it !
Conclusion: Interesting tale and good turn by Audrey Tatou, bringing out Coco chanel's colourful character well. Mixes fact with fiction well and I recommend for the historical value as well as the fictional element.
