All Good Things Come in Threes

SIngli6, FilmCrave
22 June 2014
  • Excerpt: This film was never going to be as excellent as 'The Dark Knight'. Even the most devout Nolan fan, in their most elated state of creator worship, would have been all too aware of this film's inevitable failure to top it's critical darling of a predecessor. Setting this aside, 'The Dark Knight Rises' still ends up being a film of tremendous quality. Most blockbuster filmmakers state a desire to avoid CGI, but Nolan actually makes good on his word.

  • Summary: Eight years after the fall of The Joker and Harvey Dent, Gotham City is quiet, peaceful - but all that is about to change. Bane has arrived and plans a campaign of terror that will push the city to its limit. Batman will once again take the mantle of hero in order to save his city. This is so far one of the best movie of 2012.the score is good and the directing is well done.

Dark Knight Trilogy - best overall

Ace Dad, Warner Bros
29 November 2013
  • Summary: The Dark Knight Triology is the best Batman series since all three stand alone well and are all connected well with good story writing, acting and effects. The only disappointing part is that Batman in this series does not use his "gadgets" very often and his extremely high tech vehicles seem to generate very limited destructive power or help in stopping the villains. Overall good series. Highly recommended.
  • Pros: Engaging Characters, Entertaining, Talented Acting

Flaws or no flaws, it's Batman.

  • Excerpt: Possible Spoilers, but who cares, we've all seen it. I remember walking out of the theater, having witnessed The Dark Knight Rises, and thinking to myself: Wow. That was perfect. It wasn't. I came to understand that. For a time I actually hated this film, but after another watch, it solidified itself as amazing. When I was expecting The Dark Knight Part II, I got something different. It's quiet, it's toned down, it's almost a character study.

The Dark Knight Rises is Good, But Dissapointing

Looneymanthegreat, FilmCrave
6 March 2013
  • Excerpt: Christopher Nolan is an interesting case of auteur. His Dark Knight Trilogy has become one of the most financially successful trilogies of all time, but at the same time he’s directed far more original pictures like Memento (one of my favorite movies of all time) and Following. He walks the line between serious film maker and blockbuster kingpin, and does so surprisingly well.

"The Dark Knight Rises" by Yojimbo

Yojimbo, FilmCrave
6 January 2013
  • Excerpt: Eight years after the death of Harvey Dent, a reclusive Bruce Wayne brings Batman out of retirement to combat a ruthless mercenary with an army of fanatical followers who hold the entire city of Gotham for ransom. I feel I have to begin this review by pointing out that The Dark Knight Rises is a beautifully crafted superhero blockbuster, because otherwise it's going to sound extremely negative!

Review of The Dark Knight Rises

Mom_of_3, Warner Bros
31 December 2012
  • Summary: It was interesting to see the interaction of the characters and the plot. However, the sound quality was extremely poor and to understand most of the most you had to have the caption on to understand what was being said. It definitely wasn't my favorite batman movie.
  • Pros: Engaging Characters
  • Cons: Sound quality
