  • Summary: The story is about Six Americans are hiding out at the Canadian Embassy as the Iranian revolution reaches critical mass. It's up to a CIA agent who specialized in "exfiltration" to get the Americans to safety with a risky escape plan. the title of this movie Argo sound's a bit like the movie Hugo.

"Argo" by Yojimbo

Yojimbo, FilmCrave
20 March 2013
  • Excerpt: A CIA hostage extraction specialist is called in to retrieve six US Embassy workers hiding out in the Canadian consulate in Iran after the civil uprising of 1979. Argo reminded me very much of The Bank Job, a British heist movie from a few years ago starring Jason Statham.

Great Movie

barb, Warner Bros
14 March 2013
  • Summary: This is a great movie, very tense and keeps you on the edge of your seat, worried about what will happen next.... even more interesting because its based on a true story - the language could have been cleaned up so younger viewers could view it for its historical content.
  • Pros: Engaging Characters, Entertaining, Informative, Tense

  • Excerpt: Can you spell overrated? I sure hope I can because I’m going to be using the word a lot in this review. Argo recently won the Oscar for best picture and I can’t honestly say I’m surprised.

Riveting, edge of the seat drama

sreekirch, FilmCrave
17 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Directed by Ben Affleck Starring Ben Affleck, Alan Arkin 4/4 Iran hostage crisis, the main concept of argo (A fake space film) takes the best of it and Affleck hammers the viewers with wit, energy and temperament. It swivels around like a spinning top, tied to a long rope.

12 February 2013
  • Summary: Argo has been sweeping up awards over the past couple of months, and it seems to be the lock for Best Picture. While I do think it is a good film, it's still nothing extraordinary. Just a simple story told well, both entertaining and informative. I can see why mainstream audiences would like it.

  • Excerpt: Ben Affleck is three for three in directing effective, tense, and revealing films. Argo is his latest effective creation, a film steeped in history that thoroughly immerses the audience into an era of tense politics and suspicions.
