Summary: I have owned this blu ray player for about two years. When I first received the player it worked as well as the other reviews described. It is slow to start, and is excessively loud. The reason I am giving this player one star is because of a firmware issue Vizio refuses to resolve. At one point in time the player received the firmware update that allowed it to play the updated blu ray discs.
Summary: I bought this some time ago, and bought it to have some type of integration to my Vizio flat-screen. Not much there. The remote is 99% geared to the Blue Ray Player, so that was a flop. I can't believe it is still being sold, therefore I am commenting on it to save you from this awful device. It is a disappointment.
Summary: I have a Vizio TV, flat screen. Should be cake to install to two together. First one they sent me was defective. A week wasted. Second one was defective. Turns out the two machines together kept burning the other one's innards out. So I never got the Blu ray and had to replace my TV because the Blu ray somehow burned out some key part in the TV, which to repair was 5/6 the cost of a new tv. I wouldn't buy another vizio product, ever.
Summary: Everything works except the ability to update the firmware. Talked to Vizio support and after they sent out two disk so that I could update the firmware manually, they pretty much told me since the product was out of warranty I was screwed. The disk were sent to me because the other ways to update firmware (this is suppose to be automatic) did not work.
Summary: I bought this item and was told that it would have applications like hulu added when the firmware was available. Now Vizio tells me they can, but will not be adding HULU to my blueray. It will however be on cheaper/newer blueray players.
Summary: I bought this BR player at Walmart, brought it home and set it up. Setting up wireless was easy; nothing else was. The startup sequence each time you turn it on takes forever. The remote is terrible, with buttons that have to be pressed so hard that your fingers end up aching -- you actually have to press each button until you hear a loud "click," like something out of the 1970s. And half the time, the player doesn't recognize that you've pressed a button.
Summary: Plays perfectly and surfs quickly. Wireless is flawless and Pings my wirless N through a brick wall too. Works and is packaged like the one I bought before it at Best Buy. Is cheaper than the Sony and I cant tell any faults.
Summary: I have three different ones and this VBR220 was bought for Netflix and to rid my home of 100 dollar commercials. I now watch pay per view and Netflix. You need a computer to view Netflix rather than spending minutes to fumble through the movies. It is a good unit but better ones are on the market now.
Summary: purchased this poor excuse for a home electronic back in thanksgiving. played the first blu ray i put in. afterward, it wouldnt play netflix nor brand new discs. out of luck it played a pair a week later. has not functioned since. sure, it connected to streammed netflix fine. but DOES NOT PLAY BLU RAYS. called vizio, and they would do nothing for me, short of wasting more of my time. suspected this brand was crap, and just confirmed so.
