Summary: the first one I received never worked - so I sent it back and got another one. Now, after 1 1/2 years it has stopped working and we'll have to tear it apart to get the DVD out. when it was working, it was quite nice; but afraid this product is not long lasting or reliable. I would not recommend purchasing this product.
Summary: I bought this Blu Ray player for my husband as a birthday present, and it has been nothing but headaches ever since. We returned this player to the company THREE TIMES because it skipped, it would turn off in the middle of a movie, it would connect and then disconnect to the internet multiple times during a movie so a message would pop up letting you know that, etc., and we still can't get one that actually works.
Summary: Being avid watchers of DVD's, we decided to buy a blueray player & this was in an affordable price range. First thing we noticed was you had to have the remote almost pointed directly in front and close to it for it to respond, then after about 4 months or so of use, it started "randomly" not playing DVD's, we would have to power on, power off, eject, over and over & it would finally play. Now at 6 months It wont play DVD's any longer.
Summary: I've had this player for about a year and a half, and have finally gotten so frustrated that I'm tossing it and writing this review. Remote control was terrible, would only work if you pointed it DIRECTLY at the unit from within 6 feet and pressed the buttons repeatedy. Blue Ray discs....50/50 chance it would work....unit would sit there forever doing nothing, then finally just shut itselt off. Nice!
Summary: Worked ok for a few months and then it ate the disk one day and wouldn't give it back, e.g. all controls fail to respond after power on. Called technical support and they walked me through a reset process (press the power button for 1+ minute), and that worked, and then it stopped working again right afterwards. Called again and awaiting repair or replace instructions. Hopefully they'll replace.
Summary: Bought one of these at Walmart because the price looked good and I'd just bought a Vizio TV that I really liked (and continue to like). I spent several hours fiddling with it, talking to tech support. They told me to disable my network security (??!!) and it might connect to WiFi. I did it, just to experiment, and it did work ... for 10 minutes. Also had the same experience with the remote buttons not responding until I pushed them, HARD, repeatedly.
Summary: Player died after 6 months - no function would not turn on. I can understand these types of problems but I would not buy again from Vizio based on the Customer Service support I received. Despite the agent knowing that by the serial number I gave him showed the player was less than 1 year old and under warranty I had to email him a proof of purchase (thankfully I purchased on Amazon and was able to go retreive a receipt) and then wait 48 hours for it to be verified.
Summary: I bought this unit, along with a copy Avatar on Blu-ray, to replace my old Pioneer DVD player. It played Avatar with no problems, but when I purchased a copy of Vanishing Point on Blu-ray at Walmart, it wouldn't play it. I called Vizio's tech support and was informed that there are no firmware updates and they didn't know when there would be any. Basically, you have no idea whether the Blu-ray movie you're buying will play or not.
Summary: This is my first review on Amazon. I'm compelled to write a review for this product in hopes of saving other the time and aggregravation that I experienced with this product. I purchased it in April 2010 ... watched 3 bluray movies on it ... and it died in Jun 2010. When it did work, it was slow to load bluray disks. While the Wifi was a nice option, I ended plugging it directly into my router because the wifi was too slow.
