broke down in just a few months

Paul Huang, Amazon
19 March 2011
  • Summary: Worked ok for a few months and then it ate the disk one day and wouldn't give it back, e.g. all controls fail to respond after power on. Called technical support and they walked me through a reset process (press the power button for 1+ minute), and that worked, and then it stopped working again right afterwards. Called again and awaiting repair or replace instructions. Hopefully they'll replace.

Don't Buy From Vizio

T. Lieber, Amazon
11 September 2010
  • Summary: Player died after 6 months - no function would not turn on. I can understand these types of problems but I would not buy again from Vizio based on the Customer Service support I received. Despite the agent knowing that by the serial number I gave him showed the player was less than 1 year old and under warranty I had to email him a proof of purchase (thankfully I purchased on Amazon and was able to go retreive a receipt) and then wait 48 hours for it to be verified.

Buyer beware...

Jeff Chen, Amazon
1 May 2010
  • Summary: The online function of this bluray player is really limited. The facebook app actually resides inside the Vudu app and is fairly limited. I couldn't even find it at first. The user manual says nothing about it. When I called the tech support, they were clueless. I accidentally decided to check out Vudu, then I found it. The response time for the product is also very sloooooooow. This product is not worth the $250 for sure.

Bad Player, but apps/netflix work well

Dan M. Dietschy "dan", Amazon
27 April 2010
  • Summary: This player is awful. when you put in a BR movie it takes 5-10 minutes to load. No exaggeration. I have no idea what it's doing. Then when you eject it spins and spins and takes another 5 min to eject. This is my first BR player, i was thinking they worked out all the kinks by now. I guess i shouldn't expect much from Vizio though, they are cheap and clearly they make crappy products. I have checked for updates, but non are available yet.

Works great so far!- Update year later

Babsyboo, Amazon
31 March 2010
  • Summary: I was a little frightened to open the box after reading some bad reviews, but everything works great. Batteries were working. Dvds play well. I don't have any Blu- rays, so I can't say anything in regard to that. WIFI was so easy to set up. I had Pandora and Netflix set up within a half hour. I bought this player specifically for use with Netflix. Works great! The best value I've seen for an internet ready dvd/blu ray player.

Worked well...for 2 hours...then broke

Mike W, Amazon
27 March 2010
  • Summary: I got to play with this player for just 2 hours before it died. It went completely dead - no lights, no nothing. If I leave it unplugged for a while, and plug it back in, the lights will come on for a few seconds and then go out again. I have returned it to Amazon, and they're shipping another one - hopefully I'll have better luck with that one. A few comments during the brief time I played with it... Blu-ray playback was good. Netflix worked well, as did Pandora.
