Summary: It's a pretty decent region-free DVD player, especially now that Philips produces total crap, pardon my French. There is one issue, especially for those who buy a region free player for old Hollywood movies only available on DVD in the UK (I would just move there if I spoke the language :).
Comes with European power plug and adapter, but . . .

Summary: Although the product description does not, in my opinion, make this sufficiently clear, this DVD player arrived with a European power plug which does not fit a standard USA power outlet. Fortunately, it comes with a plug adapter. That's the good news.
Summary: I owned the previous 500 model of which I loved the picture enhancement, and apparently was fortunate to have it last for about a year and a half. Because of the extended detail feature I decided to buy another one - this time this 600 model.
Summary: The Toshiba XDE-600 All Region DVD player is what one would want all DVD players to be. No more worrying about whether the DVD I just bought or borrowed can be played in my machine, as this player handles all formats, including PAL. However, the description is not entirely accurate.
Summary: I bought this for my parents as they don't rent blu-ray and just need DVD and CD playing. I'd say you CANNOT get a better DVD player to upscale to 1080P as good as this one. This DVD has been rated as good as Oppo higher end DVDs costing $300.
Summary: The XDe-600 had one drawback keeping me from recommending it to anybody, it was region locked. However it would play PAL video as long as the sources were not region locked. Thanks to an intrepid fellow called "hikarushidou" we have a region hack.
Summary: Researched non Blu Ray DVD players on-line and chose the Toshiba as the best for my system. Amazon had the best price so I ordered it. Came exactly when Amazon said it would. Simple to install. Had it working within 30 minutes of opening the box. Very good quality picture and sound.
Summary: Great picture quality. Very sleek and very light. I don't like the remote it is totally black and hard to see buttons, it should be white on black like my Toshiba HDTV remote. But so far, very good buy for the $60 or whatever.
Summary: A really decent DVD player with everything one would expect at this price point. The included SE-R0313 remote control has buttons spaced out well considering normal finger thickness of an average men in USA or Europe.
