Worth the $$$$

  • Summary: I was concerned about this purchase after I read the review that said it destroyed a tape. I like having the combo feature in my bedroom--less clutter! So far it seems to work just as expected. It is a little loud, and rewind & fast fwd features aren't exactly "fast", but it wasn't expensive and you get what you pay for! It looks brand new and comes w/ everything you need to hook it up. It's worth the $$$$.

  • Summary: I have now had 2 of these units. The first one "ate the tape" when I was playing a VHS tapes. This problem cropped up after only 3 days in service. The second unit was better for about 3 weeks then it started to lose tracking on VHS playback (frame jumping). The same tape plays well in my borrowed Panasonic. Customer Service has been excellent with both failures. I can recommend Overstock to my friends but I cannot recommend the Toshiba to them.
