Summary: I love this Toshiba HD-A3 DVD Player. I also have the Toshiba HD-A2 DVD Player and both have excellent sound and picture for a resonable cost. I purchased manufacturer refurbished and have been very happy. I was able to upconvert my standard DVD's to HD as well as purchase the HD-DVD Format DVD's that have been discontinued and are selling for great prices! Blu-Ray Upconverts as well but at a really high price for the hardware & Blu-Ray DVD's are too Expensive!
Summary: I have the xbox HD DVD player and a newer lg 47", but the xbox player doesn't display the 24p frame rate which makes it pretty jittery on the tv. This player has an update that allows it to display the 24p and I couldn't be happier with it. So far it has played all of my movies with excellent picture quality and sound. Thank you to the seller for the good deal and great product. I highly recommend both.
Summary: I love my HD-A3, it was affordable and I am buying HD DVD titles for a lot less than Blu-Ray. I have a Blu-ray player as well, a Sony S550, and it can not upconvert standard DVDs and good as my Toshiba HD-A3. I love both formats, but HD DVD is saving me money on similar titles that are out on BD. Buy this while you can, it's a great deal.
Summary: Purchased from amazon and item came as described w/movies. This item is a must have for movie buffs. I own a 42" and 62" hd tv's and it is perfect in every way. Not much difference from my blu-ray player and my HD dvd player for my xbox 360. Get this item asap.
Summary: I'm glad I was able to pick one of these up for so little. I've had the 360 add-on since the beginning and wanted a stand alone. I love the format and wish it was the one that prevailed, It should have. Not much to say that everyone doesn't already know and hopefully I will be able to import all of my favorites.
Toshiba HD-A3 and Sony BDP-S350: peaceful coexistence at last!
6 August 2008
Summary: I just purchased the brand new Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player and put it on my rack right next to my Toshiba HD-A3 HD-DVD player, which I bought in November of last year. Both machines do a fantastic job on high def movies and upconversions! Since the electronics industry couldn't agree on one standard, I had to take matters into my own hands and agree on 2 standards.
