Summary: I haven't fully explored what you can do with this machine, but it is easy to use and produces good recorded DVDs. Of course, it's also a good player. The uses I have for it, not all of them tested yet: copying VHS tapes to DVD (from my existing VCR); recording TV programs off the "air"; watching prerecorded (or my own previously recorded) DVDs; producing edited DVDs of my own recorded materials; tuning in QAM channels directly from my cable.
Summary: I have had this product for about 6 months now and it has performed perfectly. I only have a powered 'rabbit ears' antenna and get perfect digital reception from all local channels. I use the DVD function very often in play and record and have had zero problems Toshiba DR560 1080p Upconverting DVD Recorder with Built-in Tuner
Summary: I have had this for about a month, but I have been recording movies non stop! and so far works great. I haven't yet used a lot of the fatures like editing and renaming titles, but I've read all the instructions and I plan to start soon. I would def.
Summary: I liked it so much I bought two!! One upgrades the signal on my Slingbox and the other records TV shows, American Idol, etc., while I'm at work. It is a nice unit. The customer service is very good. You get to talk to a live person who is actually very helpful!!!
Summary: Toshiba DR560 1080p Upconverting DVD Recorder with Built-in Tuner I highly recommend the DR560. I use it mainly to record and re-record my daily & weekly news programs, with the same DVD-RW that I use over & over again. The timer works flawlessly. The tuner found all my digital and analog stations automatically. Before the DR560, I had bought a Phillips 3506 at Walmarts and it was a disaster.
Summary: This Toshiba DVD recorder does all that I want it to do. I can use several different media (my last one was very picky about what it would read). I have Dish and a DVR and can record in many different combinations of inputs.
Summary: My old VHS/VCR died so I was in the market for a replacement. Since most movies rented are DVD and now Blue-ray DVD I chose to buy a DVD recorder to replace it even though it isn't Blue-ray. Some of the primary reasons I chose this particular DVD recorder was because it has it own digital tuner, which allows you to record a show on one channel while you are watching another on your TV if you so choose, it offers upconverting and it has the hdmi connector.
