Great DVD recorder

Anonymous, Newegg
4 April 2009
  • Summary: Great VCR replacement. Works with my flat panel, my wireless network, and Disk Network
  • Pros: I wish I has bought this instead of the Vista 64-bit media center - would have been a LOT cheaper!! This recorder does everything I need it to do - it works with my DishNetwork, it is programmable, it records at various lengths, is quiet and it works with a variety of DVDs.
  • Cons: None to far.

  • Summary: none
  • Pros: I am on my 4th home dvd recorder in the last 5 years or so. GoVideo = awful , RCA = awful , LG = ok once I replaced the burner...This Toshiba, although I only have it for a month, does stuff the way it is supposed to be done! Yes, it might be a little slow to load a dvd, and yes, it doesnt have a...

Excellent Basic DVD Recorder

Anonymous, Newegg
6 January 2009
  • Summary: No complaints. If you want a good basic recorder, this is the one to get. Toshiba has never disappointed me.
  • Pros: I was looking for a basic, no frills DVD Recorder, and this is an excellent product. So far, it plays everything that's been thrown at it, and recording is straight forward as well. Picture quality is very good, and so are the various functions (freeze frame, fast forward, slo-mo, etc.). Couldn't...
  • Cons: As some other posts have said, the remote control is generic and "lightweight." The layout and function is decent, but it is not back-lit, and the writing can be hard to read in dim light. But it is so straight forward and simple as remotes go, there should be no confusion after a few uses. Also,...

It works

Jared L., Newegg
25 December 2008
  • Summary: You can record things that lag like games, if you buy splitters. Annoying though.
  • Pros: It does what it says, it records things onto dvds.
  • Cons: Terrible for recording games, they lag badly even when it isn't recording. Tried this on multiple TVs.

Excellent DVD Recorder

Timothy C., Newegg
18 November 2008
  • Summary: For the money, I would buy it again!
  • Pros: Low Cost, Ease of Use, Responsive UI and FF/RW functions.
  • Cons: Quality of outputs from S-Video and RCA is not that hot, but I guess they intended for one to use HDMI! (Feature?)

Good for the price

RAY B., Newegg
24 August 2008
  • Summary: Good for the price. Rated this at 5* because of the lower price for the quality. Otherwise it will get a 4*
  • Pros: This is the first DVD recorder that I have owned. So, I do not have a comparison with any other. The quality of the picture on replay appears to be good to excellent even in slower speeds.
  • Cons: On replay, you are unable to find the place by the time function. Only the chapters are marked.

Doesn't have a tuner

Tim H., Newegg
22 August 2008
  • Pros: Solid quality, very small footprint.
  • Cons: Why would an average person want a VDV recorder with no tuner?

Very Satisfied with This Unit

Christopher M., Newegg
28 July 2008
  • Pros: Very easy to use, good manual, and great feature set. I use it to record programs off of my TiVo. It beats LAN transfer, mastering, and burning hands down - and it takes only a real-time hour instead of two-three hours for each show. Upconversion looks great.
  • Cons: As noted by another reviewer, it is a little slow to load DVDs. Other than that, it is a great deal.

  • Summary: A little Slow reacting when a Dvd is put in until it plays but not a big deal. This is the only Model that syncs with the Toshiba TV.
  • Pros: Dvd Player Syncs up Perfectly with The Toshiba TV. Just put in a Dvd and the TV goes on and right to HDMI and Plays. Great Picture with Up Conversion. Great Price
