A reliable but difficult to operate DVD recorder from Sony.
2 February 2009
Excerpt: This was the first DVD recorder I ever purchased and did so based partly on the brand name, Sony, and partly on the features of the machine. It is fully compatible with all other electronic devices including VHS machines, AV receivers (such as Freeview boxes, top-up tv boxes etc).
Excerpt: Sadly total rubbish. Problems start when you find it is not a Sony, but an LG unit made for Sony. Now why would I pay the premium for Sony if I wanted an LG??? Frankly this would not matter if it actually worked. First failed after 1 month, second after 18 months.
Pros: None that I can see, other than it is no longer made
Excerpt: A good looking and reasonably small model which suited our needs perfectly. The recorder is easy to set up and connect with an easy to follow manual and auto set up features. The ability to record in dual format is very handy as i never buy the same discs each time and just get what is cheapest in...
Excerpt: My good lady brought this home a couple of months ago to replace our aging VCR and DVD player and I was sceptical to say the least. The cost at retail varies between £140 and £180 so shop around.
Pros: Compatible with DVD + / - R/RW and MP3, looks good, easy to use .
Excerpt: Good points: the Sony RDR-GX 210 S is easy to use very basic, and all the controls are normal, it has good sound quality and image quality. Bad points: makes a lot of noise when loading a DVD (sounds like a fighter jet setting off), I have been having difficulties with the open and close slot it has...
