Excerpt: DVD players that are affordable must meet a few requirements which are they must be good quality and have at least some decent features and the Sony DVP SR200P DVD player has many qualities that I look for in a DVD player.
Summary: I purchased this dvd and when i pushed the open/close button, it was very slow to open, it was slow to do anything, not even 2 months after having this dvd product it would not power on. I returned it to walmart and they did give me a refund for it.
Summary: I chose this player after doing tons of research about it vs. other comparable players. Everyone commented that it plays everything, and it does! It plays DVDs that my old Toshiba couldn't. Plus, I have a Sony Bravia TV; I can use the included remote for both DVD player and my TV. I gave this an overall rating of 4 because of the tray's flimsiness, something that a lot of people did mention.
Summary: Nice little, simple dvd player. Instructions are clear and the unit works well. If you're looking for a basic dvd player just to watch movies/listen to mp3's on, you can't beat this value. the only drawback is that the remote doesn't have a button to remotely open/close the disc tray, so it has to be done physically/manually. Other than that, great value.
Summary: I received my dvd player in the mail today. I decided to test this machine out before i gave it as a xmas gift and i'm so glad i did or i would have been extremely embarrassed. I put in a standard dvd in the dvd player and it played for 12 mins before the machine froze up. I then had to unplug the machine and wait 10mins before plugging it back in. I decided to try another dvd which only worked for 2 secs before it froze again.
Summary: Bought this model from Walmart. It worked for a few minutes, and after a while the video signal was gone. We thought it might be the TV, or the video cable. But we moved the video cable to another player and it worked fine, so definitely this player broke down within minutes. So much for buying a 'reliable' brand.
