Excerpt: I recently bought this dvd player to have an extra one in our house. We have about five televisions but we only had two dvd players. I haven’t had a problem with it yet. It works just like it is suppose to. Every dvd that I try to play in it works just fine and quite well two. The dvd player is silver and black. On the right hand side of the dvd player is the slot for the dvd player. On the left hand side there are three buttons that are on it.
Excerpt: Out of the 3 DVD players I own the Sony Progressive Scan DVD player is one of the easiest to use. This silver, sleek, yuppie looking DVD player has the simple sophistication that I like the looks of for my entertainment room. My Sony Progressive Scan DVD player can read almost and DVD I put in it, even if the DVD is slight less than perfect. This DVD player has both a Dolby Digital & DTS output, for those of you who are like me and don?
Summary: Bought this unit to go with a high definition Sony TV. I have a good collection of standard definition DVDs and wanted a player that had the upconverting capabilities so I could enjoy them in near HD quality. This Sony fits the bill very well. With the HDMI interface, it was extremely easy to set up--just one cable to connect to the TV and it is up and running.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, High Quality Picture
Summary: Some reviews have said it is slow to load. I didn't find this to be as bad as some describe. it does take anywhere from 20 - 50 seconds to get warmed up, but then it performs like a champ. The picture quality is excellent, and quite noticable from using component video and audio cables. Spiderman 3 was particularly excellent in terms of visual fine details. I would purchase this again!
Pros: Consistent Performance, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, High Quality Picture
