Summary: I got both the Sony TV and Sony Prog Scan NS700P DVD player for $2129, so that made the TV a great bargin. I bought the Thomasville Entertainment Center and it holds the set perfectly. http://www3.thomasville.com/Products/roomgroup.asp?CollectionRGID=117 The Progressive scan Sony NS700p player is awesome and I read reviews that compare it equally to $2000 DVD players. The output on the XBR is truely a sight to behold.
Pros: The picture quality is scary; it jumps out at you.
Cons: Tweaking of all pre-set settings is required to get the best picture for your particular signal. It's also heavy, but once the cables are hooked and you don't plan to move it, who cares. I don't like having to go into service mode, but at least it can be done.
Summary: I couldn't decide on a BLU-RAY Player or this player after reading many reviews on the internet, but I just purchased the Samsung LN37A450 LCD and it is a 720p & 1080i HDTV so why get the Blu-Ray for $300.00 when I can spend $80.00 and get an awesome picture. Set-up was fairly easy with the menu on the DVD, it took me maybe 15 minutes to set up my video and audio options..My suggestion is to read the manual first.
Pros: HDMI Output With Video Upscaling:, Picture quality for price!, Easy to use Menu Interface
