Excerpt: I bought the Sony DVD Player DVP-NCH85H at Best Buy today. The list price was $129. I bought it for $109. It replaces another Sony DVD player the DVD-NS700P that we owned for several years and recently gave out on us. In my experience, it is not worth buying a top of the line DVD player because the technology changes so quickly, the prices drop and it almost never make sense to repair a broken player. I have two quick observations about the Sony DVD DVP-NCH85H.
Excerpt: It was exciting for me to go shopping for ALL new electronics after I let my ex-husband have all the OLD stuff, including the oversized cabinet! One of my great purchases is the Sony CD/DVD player, model DVP-NC85H. The best thing I love about this player is that it plays either Cds or DVDs without changing anything. It just knows which is which. I can load five CDs in and just let it play and it will play until I stop it. Sharp clear pictures and great sound.
Summary: It's hard to find multi-dvd players these days so I couldn't pass this one up. The ONLY complaint I have is that the remote needs to be pointed directly at the unit for it to operate. This is the reason for 4 stars on ease of operation. So basically, I can't just lay there and push buttons. I have to lift my arm and aim...
Summary: Realizing I shall need to purchase a new Blu-Ray DVD player before too much longer, but really needing a player that handled more than one disc, I have been really satisfied with this SONY DVP-NC85HV/S 5-disc DVD/ SVCD/ CD DVD Changer. My only complaint is that there is no on-screen menu or display that describes the discs that are loaded in the player, you must either know all of them or laboriously scroll through them and wait for each to load in order to view what the...

Summary: I bought this because my home theater (Denon) came with a single play CD/DVD player, and I like to "rack 'em" while we're in the pool listening to CD's - so you don't have to come in every 50 minutes to change music. Also because of the silver finish, which complemented my current system. Very slow disc start up, no multi-disc shuffle as far as I can tell, and very average in every way.
Summary: This is in response to help out CBWSELLS in regard to not knowing how to hook up this DVD changer to be used as a CD player. In order to use this unit as a CD player you can just hook up the rca output into your rca input on your stereo on the CD or DVD inputs and you can listen to your music or you can just connect it as you would on your DVD input on your stereo using the same rca output.
