Excerpt: This progressive scan DVD/VCR was bought to make our transition away from VHS tapes easier. Unfortunately the VCR side stopped working just after the warranty ran out so we now have an over sized, over priced DVD player. Since good DVD players can be found for under $75, I suggest you save your money and take a pass on this product.
Excerpt: This thing completely sucks. Sorry for being so blunt but the only good thing about this is that it taught me that I should never buy a dvd player with multi-functions. I stick to dvd player for only dvd now. This dvd was okay for like the first day. The dvds played smoothly and nothing was wrong.
Excerpt: I've bought this three years ago when my old vcr player wouldn't work anymore. And yes, I am still using this dvd/vcr combo mainly for the vcr player function alone. Vcr is old technology, but unless someone can show me how to get tivo for free without subscriptions, then please shoot me a message. Anyways, overall this dvd/vcr is good, but it isn't great, especially the dvd player when I was using it.
Summary: These refurbished Sony DVD/VCR combo units have functioned well and have proven relaiable. The only downfall was the price for the refurbished units exceeded the cost of these units when they were new in the Spring of 2007. But since they are no longer made and are an excellent product, what can you do? Good product and shipping was very timely.
Summary: This was refurbished, but we could not tell that it was. It works perfect. Price was great. It was easy to hook up and use. We are so happy to have found out about overstock. We always look at the web site when we are in need or want of a product. We have not been disappointed yet (12 purchases in 2 months so far).
Summary: VCR worked well, but the DVD player did not work at all. All attempts to get the DVD player to work either yielded disc read errors or a low quality, skipping picture. Will be returning this item shortly.
Summary: The quality of this DVD/VCR is good. I like the fact it has a tuner to record other stations while watching another. This will be good until Feb 2009, when you will need a digital TV box. The DVD is easy to operate, and good quality. The remote has a lot to be desired. To change a channel you have to push the button for the channel then push enter, or use the channel up/down button. The rewind, fast forward, and programming button are small, difficult to operate.
Summary: I received this and set it up. I immediately discovered it was inoperable. The eject button doesn't work, so I couldn't even insert a DVD. Videos got ejected as soon I inserted them. I am returning this, and I'm disgusted and angry. What a waste of time and money.
