Summary: This Samsung DVD player has amazing picture quality for the price. We have a Sony "Surround Sound Theater" system hooked up to our main TV and this Samsung player unit is every bit as good with video and sound quality.
Summary: Mine was too loud, as many other people have reported. There was a loud hum the whole time the disk was in there playing. Even the tray opening and closing was absurdly noisy--it creaked like a door opening in a scary movie!
Summary: Mine worked great once I set it for 2 channel stereo. It was jerky and cutting out until I found that setting in the audio menu. I live in a dusty environment, this will be put to the test. I've never seen the Star Wars Trilogy better.
Pros: Works with TVs that only have a HDMI port. Dust free
Summary: I purchased this for my daughter. She needed a DVD player with an HDMI port. She likes it . She said it has good sound which was very important to her. The only thing she wished was that her tv was a Samsung so she could use the DVD player's remote for the tv too. It was a good price also.
Summary: The machine is well-enough built, but the processor seems old and slow. If you punch a button too quickly after the first, the poor thing seizes up and you have to reset. Open and close functions take forever. Still, I didn't expect bleeding edge tech, and I'm satisfied.
