MP3s random on DVD player
Is there a player that will play MP3s I burn onto a DVD in random order. I am sending back to Best Buy a Sony DVPSR500H that they assured me would do that, but, of course, it would not.

Inbuilt Dolby Digital/DTS decoders
I have a Yamaha Dolby Digital ready player. It can accomodate externally decoded signals via 5.1 channels. What Blu Ray players can be hooked to this for me to get 5.1 channel experience.

Recording VHS to DVD
I wish to record portions of some VHS tapes onto a DVD. I need to be able to pause the DVD record function while I advance the VHS tape. Chapter editing nice but not necessary. Any suggestions as to what brand and model will do the job?

DVDR With Hard drive to convert and edit family VHS tapes
Help please. I have many family VHS tapes I want to convert to DVD (vacations-birthdays etc). I want a DVD recorder that will plug into my VCR and let me convert and edit so one with a hardrive that also will let me plug camcorder into, camera cards, etc is all I need. By reviews, it appears the Philips DVDR 3576H will do all this. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I do not want a cheap OTR, I want to be able edit garbage out, and be able to pause VHS tape and change tapes on the fly. Thanks

Good Reliable Basic DVD Recorder with a Antenna input
I am looking for a Reliable easy to set up Dvd Recorder that has a coaxial input hook up. The coaxial hookup is a must since I want to record off the Over the Air Antenna. I prefer a Recorder that records in 16:9 format, but that is not a must. Just need something to replace a VCR, that can record the OTA digital channels.
Question also, how do you set up the new recorders to record the OTA channels that now come in as 4-1, 4-2 etc?

Sound recording problems with Panasonic DMR-EZ47V
We receive HD stations only through antenna and our Panasonic DMR-EZ47V fails to record sound on some HD programs on our PBS station (sometimes sound plays while program is recording, but there is no sound on the DVD when played, sometimes there is no sound while the program is recording). We are considering just getting a new player/recorder, but want to make sure it will work with antenna reception - and that we won't have this frustration. Of those highly rated by Test Freaks that are $250 or less (roughly), which is the most reliable - bells and whistles not necessary - that will handle HD reception and properly record sound.
