Summary: This is a very dissapointing unit. The error correction is lousy. If your CD is lightly scratched you are out of luck with this player. It does not support VCD's (they say they did on the manual). Also no support for DVD+R.
Summary: DVD is hot. And Pioneer's DV-525 player is a popular choice...With good reasons...It has a Resume Function that lets you stop a movie and then resume playback where you left off. You also have a Component Video Output that brings you enhanced picture quality on component-compatible TVs. An auto-gain level adjustment cuts the disc-jitters. And its got a good memory -- recalls set-up conditions language, subtitle, aspect ratio and mode for up to 15 discs.

There DVD players are all comparable to similar panasonic products - but without the charm. I got my 525 as a replacement for my 515 after having repeated probrems with sound not lining up with the picture - a common problem even today with high transfer rate movies, such as Leathel Weapon 4, on...
Pros: At least it isn't worse then attempts made by LG.
