"Plays it all, but still buggy"

CNET
3 February 2005
  • Pros: Plays everything I can throw at it. Allows you to upgrade player with new firmware.
  • Cons: Doesn't work with all TVs. My JVC dvd player plays great on my tv w/ a component cable, but this Philips only shows shades of blue when playing videos. Works fine on another tv, but why not all?? And depending on what kind of media you use, there could b

"Loaded with features, but"

CNET
23 January 2005
  • Pros: Loaded with features. I like the fact that it plays a lot of medias (not all, but a lot). Remote doesn't bother me.

"Very slow to respond to remote"

CNET
30 October 2004
  • Pros: small footprint
  • Cons: I hate the very slow response time from press a button on remote to action in player. A call to Phillips support let me know that this is known and expected. I am going to return it tommorow.

"Lots of hicups, simply stinks."

CNET
16 July 2004
  • Pros: Slim, looks good, "claims" to play all types of discs.
  • Cons: No matter what type of disc I played there were little hicups every couple of minutes that were very annoying. And, with some discs, it would stop playing them after about 10 minutes and show this crazy screen (think the Matrix but colorful and dense wit
