Don't buy it

Paul L., Newegg
25 August 2007
  • Summary: The best part about both of my units dying is the fact that there’s no manual eject for these pieces of garbage…meaning that – to add insult to injury – I had to disassemble each unit to get my DVDs back.
  • Pros: Plays almost anything.
  • Cons: I picked up two of these because they play almost anything and they worked very well for about 9 months. But - as has been mentioned by others – the transitor problem cropped up and both of the units died within a month of each other.

Bad capacitor will break your heart

Eric C., Newegg
18 July 2007
  • Summary: Please consider carefully this purchase. I was 100% pleased with this product until it died recently. Come to find out, it is a common occurrence with this DVD player. Look here: If you are fine with replacing a blown capacitor every 8 months then you may enjoy your purchase.
  • Pros: Excellent playback and features
  • Cons: $1 faulty capacitor will eventually turn it into a doorstop.

User Review

Anonymous, Newegg
13 December 2005
  • Summary: No eject button on the remote
  • Pros: The price is reasonable but not a bargain.
  • Cons: control. Unit continues to draw significant current even when it's turned off. It played only some of the dvd-r and dvd+r, and the original vcds just skipped.
