I use this player as a secondary player and it serves its purpose. You can easily make this player region free and play a variety of video types (namely divx) without even burning a cd thanks to the USB connectivity. Did I mention that it upscales? This will make your standard definition DVDs look better on your HDTV and they will fill your HDTV screen, as opposed to having the two black bars on the sides. Last but not least, HDMI connectivity means less cable clutter. Read more

[...]I got this for my Living Room for routine use. I've only had it a short time but so far it has played everything I've tried - regular store bought movies, MPEG's, AVI's and JPEG pictures. I have my family pictures stored on flash drives and being able to just plug them in the player and begin viewing them is a real treat. It even shows the menu of how I have them categorizes so there isn't that laborious flicking thru the pictures to get to see what I want.Set-up... Read more

I am very pleased with this player. I haven't found any format it won't play so far, and the video quality is excellent (I'm using the HDMI output to my HDTV). In addition to the DVDs, it will also play files from any device plugged into the USB port on the front. I even discovered a feature in the setup menu that allows you to offset the audio & video channels to sync up those movies where the audio is off a bit. It seems to be a very capable unit, especially for the... Read more or see product

480p Progressive Scan is much more suitable on this device and quite frankly alot better. The price is right and you won't be disappointed but any DVD player with Progressive Scan will get the job done. Shop for the pice not for HDMI Upconvert. Read more

First time connection. No problem. Plays any dvd I throw at it. African, German, English, you name it. For the price, best product ever. Took a big chance as my previous philips(not same model) only lasted 1 month before returning it to target. Read more or see product
