The DVP 5982 initially seemed OK- the image quality for JPEG's was less than I had hoped. My main reason for purchasing was to try and display photo slideshows from a USB stick with HDTV resolution. No surprise, the 'upgrading' feature produces 480p quality of images only. DivX function was unreliable, whether from a DVD or USB stick, so stick with basic DVD's on this unit.
