Philips DVP3120 DVD Player

  • Excerpt: "...so, we could have the Philips DVP3120 instead. As it was brought so long ago, I can’t remember the exact cost, but I know it was around £35.00 with the Tesco Value one being around the £20.00 mark. Not only was the style and general look of the player so much better with the Philips one, but the Philips make is obviously a well known brand in the electrical world and we gathered by this we were going to be getting a decent product. The DVP3120 ...

It's not Philips, it's mine!

  • Excerpt: "...name in the electronics industry, Philips have been around for years and I regard them as a producer of high quality and durable electrical items. The DVD revolution was one that I joined very early on and remember buying my first unbranded player when they were new on the market in the mid to late 90's and paid an extortionate amount for it. Over time, like everything else these days, prices tumble and when it came to replacing my old workhorse of ...

An attractive, simple and reliable DVD player

  • Excerpt: "...DVD player. I felt that Philips was a well-known and trusted brand. The model name isn't particularly memorable and in fact I had to look up the name on the box, which I still have, in order to work out which model I actually owned! I was impressed straight away by the appearance and size of the DVD player. It is an attractive silver colour, very small and compact and sits happily under my wardrobe, where I keep it on top of the box to minimise dust ...

  • Excerpt: I bought this item due to its capability to be used as a multi regional DVD player. I was extremely sceptical about its abilty to play region 1 DVDs, yet once I entered the hack code (mentioned on another very helpful review on here) it worked like a dream. I bought the Office: An American Workplace Season 4 to watch on it, and plays great. I was worried about the quality of sound and picture when playing foreign films, yet it is exactly like a region 2 DVD: flawless!

  • Excerpt: I wanted a multi regional DVD player. This machine plays all my DVDs. It is small, compact and a great value for money. The only negative I have concerning this product is the remote itself. I think it could have been designed differently, bigger and more user friendly.

  • Excerpt: I bought this player because I wanted to play Region 1 DVDs. I followed the very simple instructions for converting it on the Amazon website, and they worked perfectly. I actually set it to Region 0, and it now plays Region 0, 1 & 2 disks, including some that sometimes wouldnt play on my much more expensive HDD/DVD recorder. The only slight criticism is that the DVD tray is very shallow and you have to be careful that the disk is properly located. Very good value.
