Summary: My last DVD player was a Philips and it worked wonderfully for over 10 years, so I was feeling pretty loyal to the brand. I brought this one home and after a week it had trouble recognizing disks. I discovered if I unplugged for about 10 seconds it would work. Then three weeks out even that didn't work. I tried two different disks. However, the next day it did work.
Summary: I purchased this DVD player mainly for the upscaling feature. Even connected with HDMI cable, the picture quality is poor. The other annoying thing is that there's a standby led, but no power on led. Makes it confusing to know whether the player is on or off.
Summary: I bought this inexpensive player for the kid's room. So far, so good. It's easy to use and doesn't require a lot of tech know how. The kids can play DVD's by themselves and I'm not afraid if it being damaged. Other than placing a disc in the player there really is no reason to touch it. The remote is simple and compact.
Summary: It's simple, inexpensive, and (so far) reliable. I'm no techie so I'm sure there are other units with more features - but I probably wouldn't use them. Open tray, close tray, play, pause, skip, stop... that's about it for me.
