Summary: I purchased this unit at Circuit City about 6 months before they went under. I was looking for a DVR not made by TiVO and unfortunately this was about it. Fortunately, this was a pretty good unit. It may not record/tune in HD but then again if I wanted cable in HD they now come with DVRs anyway. Lets be real, if you're buying this you are rabit ears user (or you have a modern art aerodynamic antenna).
Summary: best recorder ever made for free recording I have now purchased five recorders and have never had trouble with any of them. they may no longer be available as new but can be purchased on amazon or ebay as used or refurbished
Summary: Philips DVDR3575H/37 DVR is simply fantastic - we've owned it for 2 1/2 years. Imagine being able to record whatever you want whenever you want and not have to find a blank DVD or VHS tape to do it on because you can record directly to the built-in hard drive. Imagine being able to go into that recording and edit out material. For instance you record a half hour news broadcast and you only want the segment on a new cure for something.
Summary: I absolutely love this DVR. I mainly purchased this one for the ability to play the compressed video files. I love that I can record and pause live tv and record my show when I'm gone. It's kind of a bummer that when unplugged it loses all its timers but that's not that big of a deal. Great product!
Summary: Very satisfied with unit. Pretty easy to use. You don't find these units to often anymore. Makes dubbing from HDD to DVD easily. Has all input output connection I need and more. Nice unit overall.
Summary: I purchased this DVR because after the digital conversion my VCR was worthless for recording TV programs and I wanted something with a built in digital tuner (I am one of the few people left who get their signal with an antenna in the attic) and records onto a hard drive without signing up for the monthly cost of TiVo or a similar service. There aren't a lot of options out there and I am glad I found this! The cost is fantastic and the unit works great.
Summary: This does everything I hoped it would do, almost. It acts as my digital broadcast to analog TV converter. It easily records shows to a hard drive. It easily dubs shows from the hard drive to a DVD drive. The picture quality is crystal clear. There is just one little thing that bugs me, which would have been so easy to include in the features! With my old VCR, when programming a recording time, I am accustomed to an option to record "one time" or "weekly".
Summary: My Brother-in-law has this recorder so I have experience with it. It is an excellent system, albeit tricky if you are not technologically inclined. I recommend scooping one up before they discontinue them all.
Summary: To watch TV before I have used a VCR so I could watch when I wanted. This is even better, reception comes in so clear. Had a little problem setting it up due to the cable box but is worth it. Would recommend it, and would buy another if needed. The price was good for something like this. And as always Overstock delivers fast.
