I purchased this unit at Circuit City about 6 months before they went under. I was looking for a DVR not made by TiVO and unfortunately this was about it. Fortunately, this was a pretty good unit. It may not record/tune in HD but then again if I wanted cable in HD they now come with DVRs anyway. Lets be real, if you're buying this you are rabit ears user (or you have a modern art aerodynamic antenna). Read more
Pretty decent product-- except... when I would design a product, I would like to see how I would design it with more accommodating features that don't cost the company a penny more to make. The remote is a little cryptic, but has good manuals. Am thrilled recording to the HDD and using the Pause Live TV feature is very easy. Wish the remote was a little bigger and the buttons glowed, as it's a little small for me. The tuner is clear, and the unit ahs al the bells and whistles I'd expected. I am very satisfied! Read more

Philips got rid of the on-screen TV GUIDE feature in the DVDR3575H, which was VERY helpful in recording shows, in addition to having a TV GUIDE available for the following 7-14 days.
