Summary: Very disappointed to find out that I can't set timer for multiple channels for this recorder..you have to leave the channel that you want to record in order to record the show.. then,, if you want to record different show, you need to turn on TV and change the channel...
Summary: I tried a $150 Panasonic, and like this Philips much more. Very Easy to use. Good choice of recording speeds. The 2 Hour speed is actually 2hrs10min. Recording & Playback quality is great. The Disk Finalizing is Fast.
Summary: Ok, everything about this is a great unit, I would have kept it in a heart beat. Looks good, didn't like the remote at all! Here is the but:I have a widescreen TV, HD satellite, the darn thing has HDMI output but it will only record in 4:3 aspect!
Summary: I already have a Liteon DVD recorder which has worked well for the past few years, but it's a bit picky with blank media. I therefore decided to try a recorder made by a different manufacturer, and believed Philips to be a reputable company.
Summary: I replaced my Samsung DvD recorder with the Phillips based on the reviews by others. The reviews all positive and they were correct this recorder is so much better and easier to operate picture quility is very good. setup was easy using the connection sheet for TV DVD hookup.
