Excerpt: * Initial Note * At last, we can now record our favorite programs on to DVD. Slowly and surely VHS is becoming the old BETA MAX, and before you know it we will no longer see viedos in the shops. DVDs are surely, taking over.
Pros: Wide Range of Compatible formats, Good quality recordings, good size, value for money, easy set - up
Cons: Occasional flat audio, Manual is very confusing (just worked it out myself)
Excerpt: The thing I found when I bought one pf these recorders last year in 2003 was, it was great at you had all the fun of being able to watch the recording in the exact same quality of what you recorded. You could hold a frame and it was perfect even on a 36'' television the quality was great.
Pros: This gadget has all the features you need, you'll love it until !
Cons: When you get an update C . D . from phillips you'll be lucky if it ever works again !
Excerpt: It hardly makes sense these days to buy a DVD player that does not have a record facility, especially now they are so much cheaper than when Philips first came out with a home consumer DVD Recorder (I paid about £350, if I remember correctly).
Pros: The all - important record button; DVDR's take up less room than VHS tapes
Cons: Big & clunky; 'Extended Play' recordings can be quite low quality; some players will not play some DVDRs
Excerpt: Without most of us really noticing a thing, the recordable DVD market has progressed in leaps and bounds. Could it be time to banish your video machine to the fiery depths of the electronic abyss? Read the review and then some important info on DVD Formats.
Excerpt: Home DVD Recording is a process of un-learning. Replacing tape with a disc and thinking in circles as opposed to a straight line. Sound confusing? As a newcomer to DVD recording I managed to stumble through the process reasonably efficiently.
Pros: Versatile than others, Functions, Layout, Design
Excerpt: Great recorder & player. Easy to use and the disks play on almost all DVD Players. By funny anough they would not play on an LG PC DVD Player. I bought the DVD+RW890, and had problems with crackles coming from the sound, when looped through the 890 from my Pace Digi Box.
Excerpt: Just to say that this machine has had to go back to the manufacturer to be fixed after some 9 months, which did not impress me for the following reasons. I had to send the machine back to where I bought it from as Philips does not deal with their customers directly, which is a bit stupid considering...
Excerpt: If you’re thinking of buying a new DVD player or video you may want to consider this, the Philips DVDR890 DVD recorder. Basically it combines all the quality and features normally associated with a DVD player with the ability of a normal VHS video recorder to record programmes off air except...
Summary: Que des merdes...
