Summary: I am very pleased with the clarity, brightness & color resolution. The lightness of the unit makes it a pleasure to pack/carry. It will be a welcome addition to your electronics collection as it is to mine.
Summary: Not bad. Picture quality isn't great, but servicable. Same can be said for the sound. I guess you can't expect the same quality from a normal TV/DVD from a portable device. Definitely does it's job.
Summary: Unit arrived in record time. and in perfect condition from Fed-Ex., at least from looking at the box itself. I was going to give it as a Christmas present, but our DVD player died so I opened it up and was going to have my husband hook it up. One look at it and what a disapointment. The housing was cracked. Part of the inside casing was hanging over the outside of the housing.
Summary: For overstock items I don't understand why it casing is blemished. One would take this item as a return or refurbished item. That is not an overstocked item, unless it is an overstock of returns. The player works ok.
Excerpt: Philips' player was my first introduction to the world of DVD, and it remains my favourite player of the many I've tried since. Starting with the player itself, it's solidly built, with a well-designed front and good firm ("clicky") buttons for the major functions. It wouldn't look out of place next to (or below) any high-end TV, though the display seems to attract dust more than the rest of it!
Excerpt: "...As you would expect from Philips both picture and sound are of a very high quality and the build is solid. Coupled with my Dolby Digital TV it provides an effective home cinema. A point to note here is that it doesn't have an integrated Dolby Digital Decoder so you will need a separate decoder if you want to enjoy this superior sound format. Another gripe is the fiddly remote and on-screen menu system. On a more positive note the styling is pleasant ...
Pros: Picture, Sound
Cons: Fiddly remote, On Screen Menu, No Dolby Digital Decoder
Excerpt: "I think this is a great player, I have been using it for 8 months with very little problems. I do have some disks that do stop on the layer change but its only a few and a very minor inconviniance for such a great picture, which has only broken up once or twice. The play is region free (well mine is anyway, but that maybe becuase it was won on a net comp). Playback on VCD looks OK as well. So free, great sound and picture, region free and looks ...
Pros: Great sound and picture
Cons: few disks stop on layer change and have to move the time on to get it going again .
