Pros: Has worked without a glitch for almost six years now. Great for watching TV series that are on multiple DVDs, just put five discs in and do a couch potato marathon. I like the feature where it saves your spot on a DVD...you can turn the DVD off, and next time you power it back on, it remembers wh...
Summary: I use this to watch DVDs daily. I wore out a Toshiba in less than a year. A Sony lasted slightly more than a year. This one is still playing strong. I'm always tempted to get one with HDMI but why bother when this one gives me the quality experience it does.
Pros: This changer has more options to allow one to tweak the performance than the vast majority of the competition. It's played every disc I've put in, including some from N*tflix which were in, well, horrible condition. Nary a burp. I have it hooked up via component to a 32" HD TV and the DVDs I play...
Cons: No hdni output. But I bought this well over a year ago.
Summary: after this experience with Panasonic I will never buy any product with their name on it.
Pros: Looks good,cheap
Cons: On the 93rd day of ownership unit started pixalating and locking up.90day labor,1yr parts warranty sent back to panasonic (xx shipping) they said I could buy refurbished unit from them for xx. I said never again.
Pros: This DVD player is awesome! I have it connected to my DLP projector with component video cables, running progressive scan, in 16:9 widescreen at 92 inches diagonal. The picture is beautiful! The built in 5.1 sourround sound decoder is a great plus. Saves you from having to buy a separate decoder,...
Cons: It doesn't make popcorn for the movies! Oh, well!
Summary: Panasonic is the VERY Best I think..SONY might be more successful on some things/Panasonic is always a great purchase.
Pros: This DVD-player has alot PLUS Price..5-Disk Players are much better than the Single Disk Player..Audio-out Connections are more than you'll ever use.
Cons: Does NOT Playback the NEW DL-disk Format..and Panasonic WARNS about other Formats/SONY does not..the Panasonic DVD-S1S does Playback the DL-disk Format but is a SINGLE-player..Think Upgrade for todays DVD-Player.
Cons: Every time you load a new disc you have to wait for the player to scan all 5 disks. You cannot load 1 CD in and hit close, play. You have to sit there and wait for the scan and then you can hit play. Way to frustrating!
Summary: Over all, if you don't mind no volume control on the remote, it's an excellent product.
Pros: I like the fact that it's a 5 disk player. One of the cool features is you can turn the video off and just hear the audio. I also like that you can actually make the DVD function via the actual player. You don't have to have the remote. (stinks when you lose it!) :) The sound quality was incredib...
Cons: No volume control on the remote. Also, there's no tv/video button, so I had to keep my old DVD remote in order to change the video channel on my tv. Rather annoying.
