Summary: Superb unit with all the features: built-in tuner, CoAx ports plus all the latest hi-def RCA jacks. Very user friendly - even the extensive manual is fairly easy to understand. Plus this thing is probably twice as heavy as its competitors, which implies there's some genuine quality inside. Pricey, but worth it.
Summary: I bought this primarily to be able to record digital broadcasts, particularly British comedies, on PBS. I had tried with a converter box, but no joy. This unit not only replaces the converter box, but enables you to record with either VCR tapes or DVD's. I've been using DVD-RW discs, which I can erase after viewing and the quality of the recording is the best I've ever seen.
Summary: Great product. Works great, no issues. I gave ease of operation a 4 out of 5 star because the manul is kind of overwhelming. If you take your time and try a few recordings you get the hang of it, but there is a little trial and error. I love the DVD recorder, especially the Digita/Analog tuner for over the air boradcasts. My overall rating is a 5 star and would recommend this to anyone.
Summary: Nice machine , fairly easy to use like most panasonics. The one glaring drawback that is really annoying in our gotta hav it now world is it takes several seconds to change from one channel to the next.
Summary: Do NOT waste your money on this unit -- it is a piece of garbage! The first one I purchased had a programming glitch in it. The 'status report' kept flashing onto the screen at random. After seeing it on the screen every 3 to 10 minutes, we became very distracted from whatever DVD we were watching. The second replacement unit had the same problem (I chose to keep the unit and override the automatic 'status report' feature).
